Aronia Berry Night Treatment Nourishing Cream Review

AroniaN-2 Aronia Berry Night Treatment Nourishing CreamI’m so excited that I received my first product sample to review in the mail from the U.S. on Thanksgiving Day no less ๐Ÿ™‚

It was a jar of Aronia Berry Night Cream from NaturalisUSA.com, recently launched in the US though it has been around in Europe for over 20 years. (I hadn’t heard of it in the U.K.)

The Aronia berry “superfruit” (also known as chokeberry) contains the very rich concentration of antioxidants and according to Wikipedia

“A test tube measurement of antioxidant strength, the oxygen radical absorbance capacity or ORAC, demonstrates chokeberry with one of the highest values yet recorded”

Anti-oxidants have been demonstrated to help maintain healthy skin function and they are an ingredient to look for in any anti-aging cream. This cream also has “aronia anthocyanins to repair damaged capillaries and to improve microcirculation”.

Given I have had my skin for more years than I care to count I am always on the lookout for anything with anti-aging properties and as this is gentle and works for all skin types, I am happy to try it. I don’t have any problems with thread veins or anything like that but improving circulation is never a bad thing unless it means being blown to bits out in the harsh wind that we seem to get here in winter.

The aronia berry cream has a few other great ingredients too I expect my skin will enjoy

  • oil from peach seeds and evening primrose seeds to moisturize, hydrate and protect the skin barrier function
  • Vitamin E also known for its anti-aging properties plus vitamins B2, B6, and C
  • Polyphenols, anthocyanins, flavonols, minerals and quinic acid to fight off all kinds of nasties

The cream promises the following benefits:-

  • Improvements in blood circulation and strengthening of blood vessels
  • Reduction in fine lines and puffiness, minimizing the effects of aging
  • Fighting off viruses, allergies, and carcinogens
  • Stimulating cell regeneration
  • Protection against moisture loss

So I tried the night cream for the first time last night on my face and neck. It is much thicker and richer than the Avon cheapie I have been using lately and I worried it might be very sticky on my skin as it felt slightly sticky when I put it on but my skin soon absorbed the cream and my face and neck feel very soft this morning.

More About Skin Care

I’ll report back later how it goes, although of course anti-aging creams are difficult to judge over a short period using one jar of cream. You really need to be covering one half of your face in the cream for a few years and not the other half as a control but who want to do that? ๐Ÿ™‚

So it is all a bit subjective about what works and what doesn’t. You really have to go by the ingredients and simply choose the best you can and then go with what feels good on your skin and what makes your skin look better right away. If scientists report that particular ingredients have the right properties to reduce or prevent wrinkles or whatever and I wake up day after day after wearing a cream with those ingredients and my face feels and looks great then I am happy.

After one night with this one, so far so good.
